Merrimaking // Clothing & Accessories

We’re celebrating this truly English summer with our new threads from Merrimaking! From the girls who first brought Animal Hoods to the UK festivals, recent collaborations with Sink The Pink and Freya Momomoses shows that the fun hasn’t stopped. The new collection features clouds, glitter, fruit and a clear love of pastels, all present in the new ‘Over It’ rainbow beanies, ‘Silly Boy’ and ‘Cloud’ tees, Watermelon Bumbags and glittery ‘Disco’ sweatshirts…

Merrimaking first grabbed attention for their handmade Animal Hoods, which have taken the festival season by storm ever since they launched in 2009. All of their designs are gender-free, and designed to add some fun to your wardrobe.

Merrimaking are excited to announce their new 2016 summer collection. Inspired by playful ideas, this season sees glittery jumpers, tropical bumbags and gender-free slogan t-shirts. Their pieces are designed to add fun to your summer wardrobe. All designs are available now from the Merrimaking website and in selected retailers from 15 June.

“Brighton based design duo create bold and colourful, gender-free clothing and accessories for adults with a playful approach to life.”

Merrimaking began in the summer of 2009. Meg and Harri, two friends from Uni, were making and wearing Animal Hoods for parties and to unite friends at festivals. After graduating they had one idea quite literally on their minds; to making more hoods and sell them at a festival as a means to fund a summer of fun. Making the hoods quickly became a full-time job and has since paved the way for the pair to create an entire wardrobe of playful ideas, including clothing and accessories.

Merrimaking has attracted the attention of celebrities including Ellie Goulding, Zoe Ball and Rizzle Kicks. Their designs have flooded the fields at summer festivals, been featured on TV, in high-street fashion magazines including Vogue and Grazia.

We had to see what all this hype was about so we picked ourselves up a beanie and T-shirt. The bright colours, the soft fabrics, the funny slogans and the simplicity of it all was just brilliant. Our parcel arrived beautifully packaged and we got some stickers and badges to play with too! Not only were we pleased with the products, the designs and the quality of manufacture, but we spoke with the girls behind Merrimaking and it became obvious that their products are a perfect reflection of their personalities – kind, funny and just pretty chilled-out.
